  1. Great website can I get on your newsletter list too. i have 3 kids what are some other great websites you can reccommend? I love how you set that TBB straight on the other day, way to negative for me. Can’t wait for our MMS interview. What websites should i read each day? How can I support your site.

    • I am unsure if these comments are spam, but I approved them anyway. I am based in CVG and I have been collecting miles for about 12 years.
I had never heard of travelbloggerbuzz before I saw this comment, so I never “set anybody straight” on that page.
Do you have a blog as well and an interview coming up on MMS? Sounds like you know the blogs to read and I do appreciate you reading mine!

  2. Hi Laura,
I have worked for American Airlines for 26 yrs. Being a single mom (w/ no support) w/ a 14 yr to show the world during school breaks is difficult- everyone else is on break too!
We just got back from the Galapagos Islands- took me 4 yrs to collect those AA miles. I thought, there HAS to be an easier way I can do this and be ‘positive space’.
I am almost there on the AA 100,000 miles cc quest . Yaa! (My first attempt at this new game.)
I do have a great FICO score so trying to figure out which cards to get next and ‘when’ is a good time to close the cards I opened just to get the miles/ points- I am NOT paying the fee for a 2nd year!
    Any advice?
    Thanks so much!

    • Hi! I worked for AA for….10 months. LOL. I quit 1 month before my son was born.
Galapogos sounds amazing. It’s on my list for sure!
I usually close cards when I get the bill for the annual fee. As for applying again, each card is different. I would wait 24 months for Chase and 18 for Citi, but like the bloggers say YMMV (your miles may vary) personally I have applied for Chase United card less than a year after closing the old one, and gotten the miles.
Some cards, I hear, are easily churn-able. Like the Citi AA Exec. My husband got his second one a couple weeks ago, with the first one still open. If the offer is still there in a month, I will get another one as well. I just can’t do $20K in spending in 3 months. Barclays cards and Bank of America cards seem to be easily churn-able as well. I have not personally done it though. Yet. 🙂

  3. Hi Laura,

I read your interview on MMS. I will be following you. I have much in common with you – former airline employee, one child, practical traveler (I feel lucky in coach!) etc etc. Please keep up the good work! I look forward to your posts and insight.
